Proper Dress

A bit unusual in this blog, but I just couldn't resist. I saw this at the entrance to a wedding hall I went to today.

What defines proper dress?

If I showed up in Bermuda shorts, would they call they fashion police on me?

And what would happen if I actually showed up in a proper "Dress"?
